50 years of providing high quality, fresh eggs to New Brunswickers

As a 4th generation farm and 1 of 2 independent egg packing stations left in the province, we take pride in being able to supply consumers with high quality, fresh local eggs. We are proud to supply eggs to upwards of 50 retail stores, restaurants, and food banks around central New Brunswick.

Egg Quality Assurance

The Egg Quality Assurance™ (EQA®) program is an industry-wide initiative that certifies Canadian eggs are produced according to strict food safety and animal welfare standards.

At Dunphy Farms, we are proud to claim that we meet all requirements of the EQA® program and continue to strive to step ahead of our competitors in food safety and animal welfare requirements.

The Journey of our Eggs

Eggs are transported from our 3 lay Facilities via egg conveyor (1) to our gathering room. Here the eggs will be pre-graded by  a worker  removing any excessive dirty  or broken eggs. Then the eggs will transfer on to our egg packer (2)  which will pack the eggs on to 30 egg trays and  stack the trays to make 180 egg cases and place them on a pallet. From here the eggs will be placed in a cold room ( 3) until delivery to our egg grading station.

Typically within two days of gathering the eggs we will grade and package them to fill our orders for our customers. Each egg is loaded on to the grading machine using suction cups to pick them up 30 eggs at a time, from there the eggs will go through a washer with soap, a rinse, and then dried.  The eggs will then go through a candling machine where they will be inspected for any defects such as cracks, abnormal shells, air pockets, and blood.

Our machine is equipped with scales to weigh each egg and based on the weight of the egg the machine will drop it in the appropriate packer to ne packaged as either peewee, small, medium, large, extra large, or jumbo.

Once the eggs are packed into the selected packaging, we place them in boxes on to pallets to be sold to stores.
